The first Man vs. Tool video is ready for your enjoyment. We pitted 7th degree Tae Kwan Do black belt, Master Kassebaum, against the Makita 5377MG 7-1/4” magnesium hypoid circular saw in a one minute time trial of board breaks versus board cuts. The action is intense and the victor receives the ultimate prize, bragging rights. See the aftermath and learn who won after the break.

The blackbelt’s broken boards make up the 4 piles and the structure in the middle is what the Makita saw left behind.
The Tool takes the first Man vs. Tool victory, as the Makita 5377MG’s 19 cuts outpaced Master Kassebaum’s 16 board breaks.
The battle came down to just 3 cuts. Master Kassebaum’s decision to go with an impressive variety of kicks and strikes slowed him down as his team had to change grips and positioning frequently, but those moves were great to watch. Meanwhile Chris and the 5377MG came to the end of his preset boards with a couple of partial cuts / slivers which did not count towards his total and that left him without enough time to set up the Rockwell Jawhorse for more cuts.
Both teams learned lessons, and if there is interest enough, a rematch is definitely possible. If you’d like to see a rematch, let us know here or on the Man vs. Tool Facebook page.
